Author : Brian

Motivation and staying focused to exercise regularly is a major issue faced by many. try to build exercise in your life’s daily routine. Even if your lifestyle is sedentary, consciously try to take some time out for physical activity, if not planned exercise. Examples of such physical activity can be:

  • Going for a walk may be after launch or dinner.
  • Using the stairs instead of elevator
  • Cycling or walking part or all the way to your destination may be your office or from office to your home.
  • Doing routine chores which involve physical work, vacuuming the house, painting the fence, Gardening
  • Taking periodic 10 minute breaks and doing some stretching exercises at work

For people who get bored with the monotony of exercising for exercising sake, playing competitive aerobic sports can be stimulating and more fun to play.

A walk in the morning or evenings can be a great exercise to start with. Walking adds muscle strength which reduces chances of vertebrae fractures. Even walking 30 minutes five times a week can help you walk off weight. A moderate level of exercise like walking has been shown to enhance the immune system. Walking is a great way to stress relief and also aids your sleep. Exercise is often a component of depression treatment.

Running puts heavy demands on the heart and lungs, which makes for a great aerobic workout. Try to run on soft surfaces like grass and avoid hard surfaces like concrete.

Riding a bike is great for legs, heart and lungs, and it create less pounding on the knees than running. Choose the right bike for yourself who is of the correct size and doesn’t cause too much discomfort after a ride. If getting out of home for riding is a problem for you, get an exercise bike.

Swimming is considered one of the best total body workouts, and since it's non-weight-bearing, the risk of injury is minimal. Team sports like Baseball, soccer, volleyball, touch football you can get enough players together to play on a regular schedule of evenings, team sports are a great way to stay in shape, as well as provide camaraderie.

Golf is a good sport for fitness, but only if you walk instead of taking a cart. And don't use the excuse that playing with a cart allows you to play faster. Fact: Before golf carts, it was unheard of to play 18 holes in anything over four hours. Since the age of the golf cart, the pace of the average round of golf has lengthened to five hours. In truth, golf carts have been pushed on golfers because they are a source of profit to the golf course. A round of golf is the equivalent to a four-mile walk. Walk it and live longer. With the health craze, every golf store has dozens of ultra light carry bags for the growing number of walkers, or you can buy a pull cart.

Tennis and racquetball are superb aerobic sports and work the entire body. Racquetball, however, is perhaps the worst non-impact sport for the human back because it forces you to twist and torque in a bent-over position. Tennis, meanwhile, can be tough on the knees because of the impact from a hard court. Playing on a clay court can soften the impact.
